PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – Four Rhode Island beaches that were previously closed to swimming have been reopened, the Department of Health announced Thursday.
Goddard Memorial State Park Beach, Conimicut Point Beach and Oakland Beach, all in Warwick, were opened Friday, as well as Warren Town Beach.
Four beaches in Massachusetts had also been closed. But, on Friday, the city announced Tower 1 and Tower 2 beaches, O’Toole’s Beach and Squid Beach in New Bedford have been reopened to swimming.
City health officials said they will continue to monitor the water quality at all municipal beaches for any significant changes.
